With adoption of the vision of providing responsible finance and the aim of reducing poverty, unemployment and improving the social & economic level for individuals, entrepreneurs, micro and small enterprises that contribute to achieving economic and social development., the Jordanian Microfinance Company (Tamweelcom) was established in 1999 as a non-profit company owned by Noor Al-Hussein Foundation that operates independently under the umbrella of the King Hussein Foundation. Today and after many milestones, Tamweelcom has become one of the most important institutions concerned with microfinance in the region serving more than 95,000 male and female clients from the north of the Kingdom to its south.
In Tamweelcom, we provide the required finance for individuals, entrepreneurs, micro and small enterprises that contribute to achieving economic and social development. providing various financial products, solutions and services that are responsible within international standards and align with digital transformation strategy, so that we seek to ensure success and financial inclusion for all, by preparing and providing various financing programs, products and services to support their personal or commercial needs. And we aim to support this category of customers to improve their standard of living, support and develop their financial situation and give them the opportunity to be productive people in society, hoping that we will contribute to reducing the unemployment rate, improving the standard of living and constructively contributing to supporting and revitalizing the economic wheel in the Kingdom
Has over 30 years of experience in supporting & developing small & micro-enterprises. His specialties include financing, management, product development, & capacity building and developing a strategic plan for the Financial Institutions.
In addition to his leadership roles on the Boards of Directors in several Financial Institutions across the Middle East, Mr. Khanfar has Intensive experience in establishing Microfinance Banks & Institutions throughout the Region.
Since July 2018, Mr. Khanfar has Served as a Microfinance Consultant at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. Prior to that, he held the role of Microfinance Advisor at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 2015 to July 2018. He has also worked as a Consultant on Microfinance & Small Enterprises Financing for various Financial & International Organizations.
Previously, Mr. Khanfar was the Founder & CEO of the National Microfinance Bank in Amman from July 2005 to January 2014 & the CEO of the Microfund for Women from August 2001 to June 2005.
Currently, Mr. Khanfar serves as the Chief Executive Officer & Board Member at the Jordan Microfinance Company (Tamweelcom) and he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Microfinance Network “Sanabel".
