Tanmeyah at the FinTech Summit

Tanmeyah – Jordan Microfinance Network participated in the FinTech Summit held at the Four Seasons Hotel. The Network’s General Manager, Ms. Nisreen Al-Khassawneh, moderated a panel discussion titled:

Financial Technology in the Microfinance Sector: Empowering Marginalized Communities.

The session brought together leading experts, including:

  • Ms. Lama Al-Samihouri, Executive Director of Consumer Protection, Central Bank of Jordan
  • Mr. Essam Shenouda, Chief Operations Officer, Tamweelcom (a Tanmeyah member)
  • Mr. Amjad Al-Sadeq, Chief Executive Officer, Network International

The discussion highlighted digital transformation in the microfinance sector, with a focus on governance and compliance with Central Bank of Jordan regulations, as well as the roles of regulatory, operational, and technology stakeholders.

Key topics included:

  • Digital fraud risks and scam messages targeting clients
  • The importance of strengthening clients’ digital and financial literacy
  • Successful microfinance business models from the Arab region

The session concluded with recommendations emphasizing strong collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure a secure, inclusive, and sustainable digital transformation.

During the closing ceremony, Tanmeyah Network received the Best Community Network award in recognition of its role in empowering individuals across different governorates and improving livelihoods.
