About Tanmeyah Network

Tanmeyah - the Microfinance Institutions Network in Jordan was established in 2007 and officially registered as a non-profit organization with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It serves as the official representative of the microfinance sector in Jordan.
Tanmeyah primarily aims to provide a unified and conducive regulatory environment to sustainably and effectively support and develop the microfinance industry on behalf of its member institutions. It seeks to implement best practices for microfinance, integrating it as an essential part of Jordan's formal financial system. Additionally, Tanmeyah works to raise awareness of the importance of microfinance and its vital role in offering sustainable solutions to the unemployment challenges faced by communities. It also proposes alternative solutions to encourage innovation and creativity while promoting awareness of self-employment and entrepreneurship as viable alternatives to address the escalating unemployment issue in communities each year.

Tanmeyah - Jordan Microfinance Network was established and formally registered as a non-profit institution at the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2007. It was created to become the representative of the microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Jordan, licensed by the Central Bank of Jordan, replacing the Microfinance Association of Jordan (MAJ).
The network’s main objective is to develop a sustainable microfinance industry that has become an integral part of the national financial system in Jordan. Tanmeyah - Jordan Microfinance Network works on supporting the development of the microfinance sector through advocacy and spreading awareness on behalf of its MFIs members, as well as raising awareness about the importance of microfinance and its vital role in the Jordanian economy. It aims to empower individuals by creating job opportunities for various segments of the society.
Fundamentally, the network focuses its efforts on supporting the implementation of the appropriate regulatory environment for the sector by following the best practices and developments in the microfinance industry

This collective effort aims to enhance and improve the sector's efficiency, while working together to provide support and assistance to various segments of society. The importance of microfinance industry is constantly increasing in steadily basis among different economies being an important and essential component in the texture of the financial structure, such recognition was displayed as a result of the vibrant role of the microfinance industry lifting the targeted communities from the cycle of poverty to less poverty levels leading to different positive socioeconomic effects on the communities.

Mrs. Nisreen Al-Nasser Al-Khasawneh

General Manager

Mrs. Nisreen Al-Nasser Al-Khasawneh is a distinguished professional holding a Master’s degree in International Political Economy with honors from Yarmouk University.
Throughout her career spanning over 20 years, Al-Khasawneh has gained extensive international experience and leadership skills in the fields of institutional development, project management, and capital management.
She began her professional journey at Yarmouk University as a research and development assistant and has held prestigious positions in major companies in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to her work at the Jordanian Diplomatic Institute.

Mrs. Al-Khasawneh has worked as a consultant with numerous non-profit organizations in the areas of capital development and operational planning. She launched the pioneering national project "Tours in the Governorates," which focused on identifying the needs of women and youth and enhancing their capabilities, resulting in the creation of numerous job opportunities and the empowerment of marginalized groups in remote areas.
In her current role as the General Manager of the "Tanmeyah – Jordan Microfinance Network, Mrs. Al-Khasawneh represents all microfinance institutions licensed by the Central Bank of Jordan. She is an integral member of the team of economists collaboratively working on formulating the National Financial Inclusion Strategy at the Central Bank of Jordan. Furthermore, she actively participates as a member of the Economic Advisory Team Committee of the National Committee for Women's Affairs.
Nasreen has made significant contributions by contracting with major international companies to direct new investments to Jordan, aiming to revitalize the economic cycle and prepare investment maps and new investment products. She has been honored in numerous international forums in recognition of her efforts and outstanding contributions.
Mrs. Al-Khasawneh's career has been marked by her competence in the fields of management and business development, as well as projects aimed at empowering individuals through strategic communication with international donors and investors. She has played a crucial role in attracting companies to establish a permanent presence in Jordan, thereby facilitating employment opportunities for Jordanians both within and outside the country. Additionally, she has provided consulting services to several non-governmental organizations, contributing her expertise in capital management and promoting women's presence in entrepreneurial projects.
