Tanmia is a network of microfinance institutions whose membership includes official microfinance companies licensed by the Central Bank of Jordan (9 companies) in addition to the microfinance program of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees). Tanmia works to support and develop the microfinance sector in Jordan through support and spreading the necessary awareness about the microfinance sector, in addition to promoting the best international practices applied in this sector. Tanmia also works to support and contribute to providing an appropriate regulatory environment in cooperation and coordination with the Central Bank of Jordan, in addition to setting sound performance standards through applied understandings that support best professional practices represented in the Code of Professional Conduct. Tanmia provides specialized training activities directly to employees of the finance sector to contribute to building their capacities, in addition to awareness activities directed to existing and potential clients with the aim of raising the level of customer culture and enhancing their level of financial awareness, which contributes to raising and expanding the base of responsible financial inclusion that supports the policies of the Central Bank of Jordan, especially those related to the financial inclusion strategy. Tanmia works to represent the microfinance sector locally and abroad, locally with the relevant legislative bodies (the Council of Ministers, the Central Bank of Jordan, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning, etc.), and abroad through international forums and conferences specialized in the microfinance sector. In addition to Tanmia's role in coordinating and introducing the microfinance sector with donors, international institutions, potential investors, and those interested in the microfinance sector seeking information and studies related to the microfinance sector. Tanmia also prepares quarterly and annual performance reports on the microfinance sector, reflecting the sector's performance, in addition to preparing specialized market studies on important topics for the growth and development of the microfinance sector.

In terms of data, Tanmia collects a variety of data from member companies to complete the process of preparing quarterly and annual reports that reflect the results of microfinance institutions achieved during the mentioned time periods, with the aim of providing a database that helps microfinance companies provide financial and non-financial services and contributes to making expansion decisions in different geographical areas. These reports include the following information: aggregated, reflecting the status of the sector, and individually showing the results of the companies' work: number of borrowers, loan portfolio, number of branches, risk indicators, financial products and services provided. The overall data that reflects the performance of microfinance companies on the quarterly basis is displayed on Tanmia's website.

As for studies, they are published on Tanmia's website for the public benefit, and the quarterly performance report is published on the website that reflects the overall conclusions of the microfinance sector.

As for the detailed data that reflects the performance of individual microfinance companies, it is provided to member microfinance companies free of charge, and other interested parties (commercial banks, donors) in return for a sum of money previously determined by Tanmia's Board of Directors.

Customer complaints are received through social media (messages) received or through direct phone calls. After receiving the complaint, it is delivered to the concerned microfinance company and the company is followed up to ensure that the complaint has been resolved. After receiving the call from the customer and before listening to the complaint, the customer is directed to contact the concerned microfinance company directly according to the texts and instructions of the Central Bank in this regard, which are explained to the customer.
